The Future We Will Create: Inside the World of TED

Looking for something intellectual to run in the background, I ran across The Future We Will Create: Inside the World of TED. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design; this flick is a documentary on a four-day conference that occurred in Monterey in February 2006. 2007’s gig was in Tanzania last month, and 2008’s is back in Monterey, and not incidentally already sold out.

BMW is one of their sponsors. The ’06 conference’s music director was Thomas Dolby. The documentary is narrated by Daphne Zuniga, of “Melrose Place” fame, whose father was apparently a philosophy professor. At TED 2006, Al Gore gave the presentation that the documentary claims became An Inconvenient Truth… which can’t be true, but whatever.

Five minutes into it, Daphne has actually said the words “Every speaker on day 1 was englightened.”

This is going to be some screaming crazy-ass futurist nut job hippie shit, living holy Hell from logo to fade to black, and I am going to hate every minute of it.
